Preparing Young People for Life
An elite Minnesota private school offering academic and athletic instruction for students in grades 5-8, Breakaway Academy is committed to the confidence, success, and academic growth of each student.
We help students realize their full potential, with small student-to-teacher ratios and research-based curriculum that ensures each learner receives the personal attention and training needed for success in school, on the ice and beyond. It’s why we’ve become such a popular educational choice for families throughout the Twin Cities metro area.
Superior Academics & Rigorous Athletics
At Breakaway Academy, we use a curriculum designed in accordance with the Minnesota Department of Education K-12 Academic Standards, with programming that runs in coordination with most public school districts statewide. Our highly trained and qualified teachers and staff consult with parents, students and advisors on a regular basis to ensure all students make strides toward their personal academic goals.
Our hockey-focused athletics program helps students learn valuable life lessons while also improving their performance. In fact, we’ve designed our program to equip students with the tools necessary to enter the most prestigious high schools and universities in the state and country.
When it comes to hockey, we emphasize rigorous daily training exercises that develop six crucial hockey playing skills: skating, puck handling, passing, shooting, positional skills and game concepts. Our innovative athletic curriculum also encourages students to engage in rapid critical-thinking exercises and continuously improve their physical stamina so that they can grow into the best young players possible.
To make this happen, Breakaway Academy’s talented and hard-working coaches and instructors include former professional players and coaches from around the world. They share their experience and expertise with our young athletes each and every day.
