Ethan Benz was born in 2001 and grew up in Shakopee, MN. He graduated from Breakaway Academy in 2015. After attending Breakaway Academy, he went on to play high school hockey for Chaska. During his senior year, Benz was drafted by the NAHL Fairbanks Ice Dogs. He then graduated high school in 2019 and was picked up by the NAHL Corpus Christi IceRays for the 2019-20 season. Benz then played for the NAHL Chippewa Steel in the 2020-21 season before playing for the St. Cloud Norsemen in the 2021-22 season. After playing in St. Cloud, Ethan committed to play Division I hockey at the Union College. Benz is currently playing as a Forward for the Union College Dutchmen.
