James Miller was born in 2001 and grew up in Excelsior, MN. He graduated from Breakaway Academy in 2015. After attending Breakaway Academy, James went on to play high school hockey for Minnetonka, where he played in unison for the Minnesota Blades 18U AAA during his sophomore year of high school. Miller wore the “C” for Minnetonka High School the 2019-20 season. During his junior year, Miller was drafted by the NAHL Chippewa Steel where he played in unison with Minnetonka during the 2018-20 seasons. Miller decided to forgo his senior year and continued to play in Chippewa falls for the 2020-22 seasons. His rights were then transferred to the NAHL Jamestown Rebels. After playing in New Jersey, James committed to play Division III hockey at Augsburg University. Miller is currently playing as a Defensemen for the Auggies.
