Luke Mittelstadt was born in 2003 and grew up in Eden Prairie, MN. He graduated from Breakaway Academy in 2017. After attending Breakaway Academy, he went on to play high school hockey for Eden Prairie. While playing for EP, he won the 2018 Class AA State Championship. Luke wore the “C” for Eden Prairie High School, alongside his brother John, during the 2019-20 season. During his senior year, Mittelstadt was drafted by the USHL Lincoln Stars where he played in unison with Eden Prairie during the 2020-21 season. He then graduated high school in 2021 and was drafted with the USHL Madison Capitols for the 2021-22 season. After playing in Madison, Luke committed to play Division I hockey at the University of Minnesota. Mittelstadt is currently playing as a Defensemen for the Gophers.
