Summer 2024

At Breakaway Academy, we believe overall athleticism is the foundation for becoming an elite athlete in any sport, which is why we’re excited to announce that we will offer ballet cross-training during the summer!  Our student-athletes have been cross-training with dance during the school year and seeing positive results such as improved power and stability, endurance, and ankle strength.

Many athletes use ballet techniques for cross-training to enhance their overall athletic performance. Cross-training in ballet offers numerous benefits, including increased ankle strength and stability, improved footwork and coordination, enhanced body awareness, injury reduction, and boosted discipline and confidence.

Open to any athletes ages 9-12 years old.  Breakaway Academy students and non-students are welcome.

Program Format


Open to all athletes ages 9-12 years old.


Fridays 1:30 – 3:00 pm
June 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th | July 12th & 26th | August 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd


Sundays 6:30 – 8:00 pm
June 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th | July 14th & 28th | August 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th


Class takes place at Fortis Academy in Champions Hall, Eden Prairie.


Small-group sizes with a maximum of 20 athletes per class.


Flexible Class Options. Choose the number of classes that work best for you.  Select your preferred dates when completing the registration form.


Register by May 31st, 2024:  $30 per class. 


Register after May 31st, 2024:  $40 per class.

Expert Instruction

Ballet is led by top dance instructor, Katie McNeill.

Katie McNeill

Katie McNeill is a seasoned dance instructor and performer whose journey has been marked by dedication and artistic growth. She is trained in many styles of dance, including Ballet, Tap, Irish Clogging, Jazz, Musical Theater, Lycial, Contemporary, and Hip Hop.
