On-Ice Coach

Bio

I live in Eagan, MN. I enjoy golfing, cooking, and spending time on the lake in the
summers.

What do you like most about BA?
I am amazed at the attention to detail that BA places on giving student-athletes a
complete, well-rounded experience. I enjoy being in an environment that is motivated to
teach student-athletes skills to be successful in many facets of life.

Why is it important to have solid academics in addition to good hockey training?
Habits in the classroom directly correlate to habits on the ice. The best athletes are
eager to learn, and that starts with habits built in the classroom as a student. BA gets it
right by making academics enjoyable.

Which coach or teacher had the biggest impact on your life and why?
There are many coaches that have touched my life in one way or another. I will never
forget my time with Ted Johnson as our team trainer in HS. He taught me the power of
setting high expectations and focusing on a disciplined process to achieve our goal.

What is your favorite hockey memory?
My favorite hockey memory is our first state championship win in 2011. We came from behind for a
thrilling overtime win.

What are your credentials and hockey experience?
I have been coaching youth hockey for 7 years at the Peewee, Bantam, and HS Varsity levels. I
also coach in the MN High Performance Spring evaluations and Fall Tier 1 league.
In addition to hockey coach experience, I have also obtained my Masters in Sports & Exercise
Psychology and am a Mental Conditioning Coach. I help athletes with breathing and
visualization strategies to enhance their focus and recovery.
