Bio

My wife Corrin and I currently live in Bloomington, MN with our three boys; Duncan (8), Rocco (6), and Calvin (3). If we’re not at the rink, you can find us chasing the boys around the ball field, playing at parks, or enjoying some fishing at the cabin!

What do you like most about BA?
First we chose Breakaway Academy for Duncan because of the small class sizes and the amount of activity they receive daily. It was amazing to see how my son flourished in this environment. That experience made it an easy choice for me to join the BA team. The passion each staff member exudes for growing these student-athletes mentally and physically is incredible to be a part of!

Why is it important to have solid academics in addition to good hockey training?
It’s important to have solid academics because it teaches these kids the importance of balancing priorities, ensuring they challenged in a variety of ways.

Which coach or teacher had the biggest impact on your life and why?
Growing up, my dad always wanted to be our coach! He had a tremendous impact on who I am today. His love for the game and energy for helping kids achieve their goals set an example I still strive to match. He always told me that you should have fun with everything you’re doing because life happens so fast that you can’t take for granted things like the joy of the game.

What is your favorite hockey memory?
My favorite hockey memories are of last year at Breakaway Academy, my first on staff, where I was able to impact so many young hockey players in their tireless pursuit of the game! Being a role model for them both on and off the ice meant the world to me and I can’t thank the parents enough for trusting me!
