Coach Jessie Willis has been instructing at Breakaway Hockey since 2004. He enjoys working with our young athletes and passing on his knowledge of the game.
Jessie was born and raised in Leduc, Alberta, Canada, where he played all his youth hockey. After youth hockey he played four years of Junior A hockey for the Fort Saskatchewan Traders and the Sherwood Park Crusaders in the Alberta Junior A Hockey League. While playing junior hockey in Alberta he was named best defenseman of the year with Fort Saskatchewan and also named team captain. In 1995 Jessie was awarded a scholarship to play at Minnesota State Mankato. He was a four year letter winner from 1995 to 1999 with the Mavericks. After his playing years Jessie coached the Bloomington Jefferson Pee Wee A’s to back to back state finals and winning it in 2000. While coaching at Bloomington he coached the likes of Erik Johnson and Peter Mueller. From Jefferson Jessie moved to Chaska where he coached the Bantam A team for 6 years. Jessie has been coaching youth hockey for over 20 years. Jessie is the current Head High School Hockey coach for the Chanhassen Storm.
Jessie is married to Kelly and father to 3 boys, Jack, Brayden and Shane.
