Hi, I’m Kenzie. I went to St. Cloud State for three years before transferring to Minnesota State University Mankato for two years where I played hockey at both. I live in St. Michael and enjoy spending time with family and friends. I also love going to country concerts where I can relax and enjoy some music.
What do you like most about Breakaway Academy?
I love that students get to practice their sport while having an emphasis on the importance of academics. The small class sizes are a huge plus as it allows me to build relationships with each student.
Why did you get into education?
My grandma was a kindergarten teacher and hearing her talk about it left a positive impact on me which led me to want to teach, too. I have been coaching since 2020 and always love working with them all.
What is your best advice for students at BA?
Always try your best and control the controllables. Don’t focus on things you have no control over, it will only end up hurting you.
What is your teaching experience?
I joined Breakaway Academy for the 2025–26 school year bringing hands-on coaching experience and a passion for helping students grow by encouraging them to focus on what they can control and always do their best.
