What do you like most about BA?
I love being a teacher at Breakaway. I love having the opportunity to teach smaller class sizes and spend time with students who love being involved with sports. I also learn a great amount about hockey, as I am not a skilled skater. Breakaway is a great place to be!

Why did you get into education?
I chose to enter the field of education because I love learning. Working with children allows me to see that “lightbulb go off” in the minds of children. Watching a student’s face as they discover the answer to a challenging question brightens my day every time!

Which coach or teacher had the biggest impact on your life and why?
Mr. Chuck Anderson. My fifth-grade teacher, Mr. Anderson, was amazing! He taught me always to smile and never give up. Math was always a challenge for me. He never let me quit. I am forever grateful for the patience that he shared with me in fifth grade.

What is the best advice you can give students at BA?
“Inch by inch… life’s a cinch, yard by yard, life is hard.” Always take it little by little and don’t stress about the things you cannot control! Stay positive and SMILE!

What are your credentials and teaching experience?
BA, Elementary Education, Pre-Primary Specialty from Minnesota State University, Mankato… 15 years in public schools, working in Eastern Carver County School District.
