I live in Wayzata with my husband and three sons. I enjoy being outside (running or walking) and spending time with my family.
What do you like most about BA?
I like the combined emphasis on education and athletics. I also enjoy how BA emphasizes the whole child. Besides the basic core curriculum, BA also works on public speaking, nutrition, and how to advocate for yourself (among other skills). These are skills that will serve students well throughout their lives.
Why did you get into education?
I have always enjoyed being with children.
Which coach or teacher had the biggest impact on your life and why?
My high school Chemistry Teacher. They believed in me more than I believed in myself. I was fortunate to have a teacher that was very supportive of me and made me more confident in my own abilities.
What is the best advice you can give students at BA?
Listen & Learn, Work Hard, Be Kind, and Have Fun.
What are your credentials and teaching experience?
I have a BA in Dietetics from the College of St. Benedict and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of St. Thomas. I taught 1st-3rd grades in NJ after college until my children were born. I taught Sunday school and was a substitute teacher for the Wayzata School District until I started at BA.
