I live in Hopkins, Minnesota. In my spare time I love being outdoors, whether it’s swimming, mountain biking, hiking, playing golf, or playing men’s league hockey, I love to keep myself moving. In addition to my active hobbies, I love to still compete. I still race at US Masters swim meets, and race in Triathlons and endurance running.
What do you like most about Breakaway Academy?
I love how BA offers an academic path that allows for kids to stay active during the school day, helps improve their athletic ability, and encourages an active and healthy lifestyle.
Why is it important to have solid academics in addition to solid athletic training?
For the vast majority of athletes, their sports career will end in their early 20s if not sooner. That leaves 60+ years of life post-athletics, having a good education allows for an athlete to transition into a healthy career once their playing days are over.
What is your best advice for students at Breakaway Academy?
Enjoy the journey, the best moments in sports and life are often the little ones. And never stop having fun playing your sport.
