I live in Maple Grove with my husband, Kevin, and three boys, McCoy, Shea, and Griffin. When I am not an Uber driver, cook, cleaner, referee, and cheerleader, I love to hang out with my family and friends. I enjoy being outside and staying active, but I also love a good game night. I like to golf with my family and my goal is to out drive my boys in golf… yes… even my 6 year old.
What do you like most about BA?
I love the community feel you get right away and that it is much more than a hockey school. The small class sizes make it possible to build relationships with each and every student. And as a parent, I think the character piece is so amazing and equally as important.
Why did you get into education?
I have a passion to help children learn and make an impact in their lives. I love when a student feels the accomplishment of learning something new and seeing their face light up.
Which teacher or coach had the biggest impact on your life and why?
I have had a lot of amazing teachers and coaches, but if I had to chose I would say my teacher Mrs. O’Brien was the most impactful. She was encouraging, supportive and always pushed me to give my best.
What is the best advice you can give to students at BA?
Work hard, give your best, be kind and always give someone a smile. You never know who needs it.
What are your credentials and teaching experience?
I went to Bethel University. I taught for 12 years in the Elk River and Anoka-Hennepin school districts as an elementary teacher before staying home for a few years. I taught 2nd and 4th grade and led supplemental/enrichment groups for a couple of years as well.
