I live in Victoria, MN. In my spare time, I am the head varsity volleyball coach for Jordan High School, I play volleyball, and I enjoy spending time with family. I also have a 6-year-old dog, Cooper, who is a German Wirehair Pointer.
What do you like most about BA?
I like that BA is a flexible environment that can adapt to the needs of each student-athlete. I also like that the staff here is amazing and immediately welcomed me in.
Why did you get into education?
I wanted to make a difference in the lives of kids. I want all my students to know that I am more than a teacher to them; I am someone that they can come to with anything that is going on in their lives. They can relax and be themselves in my classroom.
Which coach or teacher had the biggest impact on your life and why?
My ’15’s’ coach Walt Weaver and Steve Getchel. They had the biggest impact on my life because they taught me more than just volleyball skills. They taught me how to be a good person and how to treat other people with respect.
What is the best advice you can give students at BA?
Get your schoolwork done right away. That way, you don’t have to worry about your schoolwork when you are playing your sport. You are a student first and an athlete second.
What are your credentials and teaching experience?
I have a K-6 Elementary Education teaching license.
I have taught one year of 4th grade and another of 3rd grade. This will be my third year of teaching, and I could not be more excited to teach at BA!!
