On-Ice Assistant Coach

Bio

I live in Spring Park with my girlfriend, Samantha. I have three older brothers (Aaron, Duston, and Jordan) and one younger sister Olivia. My parent’s names are Perry & Jean. Golf and being on the lake are my hobbies.

What do you like most about BA?
I have the ability to wake up every morning and go to work doing something that I have so much passion for, being around great kids. I have always loved hockey and being around kids. Having the opportunity to positively impact a young kid chasing the same dream I once was both on and off the ice. I can’t say enough great things about the kids, parents, environment, and staff at this organization.

Why is it important to have solid academics in addition to good hockey training?
Having solid academics makes everything in life easier. Every athlete I have ever been around that is solid on the ice and with academics has gone on to be successful. With solid academics, you always have a backup plan. Just like in hockey, you have to have a B game. You’re not always going to play your A-game, so successful players and people always have a B game.

Which coach or teacher had the biggest impact on your life and why?
Joe Dziedzic – I have learned so much from him over the years as a player, coach, and mentor. He has taught me so many life skills, and I have always looked up to him for the adversity he overcame to get where he is.

What is your favorite hockey memory?
Winning back-to-back state titles in ’09 & ’10 with the Breck Mustangs.

What are your credentials and hockey experience?
Waterloo Blacks (USHL) 2010-2011
Union College (D-1) 2011-2013
